Austin is the best city in the country for an unforgettable bachelor or bachelorette party, a new study says.
The Texas capital city has a “vibrant live music scene, buzzing nightlife and an incredible array of activities,” says travel insurance company InsureMyTrip, which studied 54 cities. Each was evaluated based on eight criteria: cost of hotels, the number of Airbnb’s with more than five bedrooms, the number of group activities, weather, and safety.

Austin has the most happy hours of the cities analyzed, some of the best-rated bars and “sets the stage for an epic party experience,” InsureMyTrip says.
The study ranks San Francisco No. 2 and San Diego No. 3 for a pre-wedding party. Rounding out the top 10 are No. 4 New York, followed, consecutively, by Denver, Philadelphia, Chicago, Los Angeles, Seattle and Sacramento.
San Francisco receives high scores for the best restaurants and the most cost-effective hotels of the top 10 cities. The average hotel room rate in San Francisco is $194 per night, InsureMy Trip says.

San Diego is the safest city among the top 10. The Southern California city also has the best weather for a party with just 0.86 inches of rain on average each month, InsureMyTrip says.
The city with the lowest rating for a pre-wedding party is Long Beach, New York. Port Charlotte, Florida, and New Philadelphia, Ohio, also rank near the bottom.
Long Beach scores poorly for activities and lodging. Port Charlotte also scores poorly for activities, as well as a high amount of rain and tropical storms.
